this month I drove Kathy up to Lions Rock on Table Mtn and popped the question.
Right down there in the middle of that smoke is Lion’s Rock. It was one of our favorite places back
then. I haven't been there for
years. I'm sad to see it burn, but I
also understand that this is nature’s way.
Sometimes changes happen slow and sometimes quickly, but we all change,
mountains and marriages, forests and families. Now the kids are grown, our youngest leaves home this Friday. We are becoming empty nesters.
We are a little unsure, a little off balance, a little sad and a little
excited, kind of like we were 29 years ago.
My whole life changed when she said, “Yes.” Now it’s changing again. I can't wait to see what happens when the
smoke clears.
