ADAM

Our youngest son Adam left for College yesterday.  The nest is now officially empty.  I am so proud of Adam.  He has always chosen to go his own way and I really appreciate that.  He doesn’t spend much time worrying about peer pressure.  He’s respectful of others choice’s, he’s not judgmental, he just knows himself, he’s comfortable in his own skin and he’s got to be Adam.

As he takes his first steps into true adulthood he doesn’t yet know how great it will be.  He doesn’t yet trust how well prepared he is.  He will figure it out soon enough.  The whole world is out there, just waiting for Adam Couey!

When Adam was young he used to wear a cape.  I don’t mean just a little bit, I mean every day, all day long. We thought it was great!  Why don’t we all wear them?  Capes are awesome!  They make you feel like you are a super hero and you are, you are a super hero.  Why not wear something that reminds you of how awesome and wonderful you are?  But then again if everybody wore one we wouldn’t know how unique and wonderful Adam is. The only person I have ever known, who wore a cape full time.  The only person I’ve ever known who knew positively from a very early age that he was actually superman.
